oil pressure?

Hey how much oil pressure is normal for these cars at idle? My gauge is all over the place under 1500 rpms than above that it lays over around the L on normal like always! Is this weird or normal?

actual psi i dont know. Mine sets on the low side of normal, usually the O or R i think (150k+). Sounds like you may have a wiring issue or a bad sending unit or something. I cant ever recall seeing oil pressure that high on any ford car ive ever owned.

Mine never really gets below 40 psi that I can think of, and that's a tired 150K mile motor that burns a lot of oil.

5 psi for every 1k is good thats what ford tech said

Get yourself a manual (mechanical) gauge and check the pressure. I don't trust electronic gauges much.

mine normally sits on the m or a, but today it was on the r and o.... :confused1:
