Ok so Im having a dillema

OK here's the situation: I don't know which way I want to go with my build up. Here are my ideas... Keep in mind that what ever build I do, I want the car to be able to handle, be a daily, and drift when ever I take it to the track and show some ricers whats really going on. Have good power enough to beat ls1s with minor mods. About...400hp

1: swap in a 351. I think it would be cool and different that's the main point. but I don't think anyone makes a supercharger or turbo that is bolt on for it. Plus there's a extra 100 pounds.. not helpin' my handling.

2: Turbo the 302: I think this would be nice cuz i could push about 400 hp easy... and its different, but its a lil expensive compared to a junkyard build 351? and there is still added weight.

3: Kenne Bell: Nice power, easy bolt on, lil expensive. But I always wondered how come the ones for the 5.0 dont scream that loud. Thats one of the main reasons I want it (not to sound ricey).


What should I do? I want to be able to road race occasionally and drift occasionally, and drive the car everyday. Its a lot to ask for I guess but I need you guys to set me straight!

Kenne Bell is the perfect everyday fun to drive car. And still shows whats up.

Get an aftermarket 302 block, make it 331, forge the internals, get H/C/I built for the Kenne bell. Now your all set to go, and absolutely no one will touch that without having to try hard. If your not making over 500hp with this set up, just throw laquer thinner all over your car, light a match, and watch it explode.

Why? Because my uncle has a 331 that's not blown, and it's making 410hp at the flywheel, therefore you should at least be more than that.

turbo... you can get a complete kit off ebay for a grand then buy some good turbos and put a little work in and tada... guy i met in dallas did that exact thing and is making almost 500 on a bone stock engine with a conservative tune...

I'd say kb it. my friend tyler's gt is kb'd and it rips. and his doesn't scream either.. idk why.

they're pretty small blowers (1.5 and 1.7 i believe) compared to the modular motors with 2.0, 2.2, 2.6!
And cause they built them quiet because they knew 5.0 owners like to hear their own exhaust tone.... :tongue3:

did you consider a 347.... Monster torque without the extra luggage of the 351, and you will still be able to whoop ass n/a
