So i've parked the stang once again till i figure out how to fix this next one. Me and dad drove it up some ramps to listen and it sqeakys horribly on the front right, but when i bearly turn the stearing wheel, it sqeaks untill i stop turning, also it sqeaks when i push down on the front right fender like a shock or something? But the shock doesn't turn??

Anywayz, what does your steering pump sound like? Mine seems to be dragging or sounding old..
I might need a new one >.<

Check the balljoints dude! you dont want to end up like mine! Sounds identical to my problem, make sure your boots arent ripped and if they are , replace the balljoint. otherwise this happens.

i agree its the ball joints, mine went through the same problem. aggarvating squeak when it hit a slight bump or turning, eventualy it got louder and i put wd 40 to shut it up but i replaced them because it would not be good if it failed. only sucky thing is if ure reusing ur old control arm u have to rip it off to press the old one out and press the new one in. tubular control arms are sweet O0

its pretty detailed dude. u got to undo the knuckle from the ball joint while the spring is compressed and unbolt the control arm to swap out ball joints. the spring compression is dangerous cuz if its not done right it can pop out damaging u or the car. id leave it up to a mechanic friend or the shop. but the sweet thing is ur ride wont be squeaking around spectators lol ;D

How much does something like this cost?
100 bucks? 200?

to be honest i dunno how much the shope would charge to tear it down but i would guess 2-300 bucks. ball joints are fairly cheap its just the labor.

I'll see if i can ask about it or get it done this next week

sweet let us know how it works out dude O0

I will, I'm going to try and find somebody who isn't going to charge me out the butt to fix it.
Sadly, it's the only choice I have.

Good news is, I only got 1 week before I park the car for 4 months anywayz due to basic. So the engine and everything will be torn out, the car completley redone etc.
I hope... atleast haha

Hicks', how much experience do you have with mechanicals? What kind of tools do you have? You can change ball joints yourself if you have a jack, stands, and basic hand tools. A torch and/or impact is handy, but not needed.

Here's a write up, it's really easy, just kind of time intensive, it would probably take a day to complete http://www.mustangforums.com/m_4025990/tm.htm

I did mine without a compressor or ball joint separator, but if you want to have those on hand, they are available at Autozone through the loan a tool program.

I understand that, I totally was too, but you can rent a compressor at Autozone if you want. I actually did rent one, but it was too much of a hassle to use. I actually put my floor jack kind of paralel to the car and hid near the door as I lowered it, lol. It was in there good enough that I needed to fight to get it out, even with the strut off and the arm hanging.

Hey Hicks, where are you? I've torn my suspension apart, front and rear enough on my '95, and my old '99 that i can do it with one hand behind my back, and my eyes closed. I would be willing to help... in fact, i can damn near tell you all the tools you'll need (sizes included) to tear it all apart. I've never done ball joints, but it seems like the hardest part would be getting to it. i've changed springs on both my Musatngs probably a total of 10 times, i've gotten quite good at it, and can have the front suspension apart, and the new springs in on both sides in maybe an hour if not 45 min.
get a big pry bar, and a jack, once everything is disconnected, you lower the jack(that is putting pressure on the control arm) once it's at it's lowest point you pry the spring out. if it's a stock spring, it's not going to go anywhere without some OOomph behind it, cause it's obviously been in there for years... it's a good time to throw in some lowering springs while you're at it. taking them out and and putting them in, is much easier, obviously cause they're smaller than stock. I got Dropzones off a website for $104 shipped to my front door, and it dropped my car 2"... check this thread for pics... http://www.sn95forums.com/forum/index.php?topic=16559.0

+1 on the spring's, they are really stuck in there, use caution, but I would be shocked if they went anywhere. And my stock spring's were broken at the bottom, so I guess it's good I had new H&R's to go on them.

The ball joint's will press out with a little C-Clamp ppress you can get at Autozone, or you can use a regular C-Clamp, some caution, and muscles.
