I got the tank part way down (i'm installing a new fuel pump) and i'm not too sure how to get the fuel lines disconnected? I got the disconnect tool, but what do i do about the clips that are on there? I don't want to break anything, so i'm asking this before i do.

Re: quick question about removing fuel lines???

if they are the plastic "duckbill" type connectors, just pry them off. If you accidentally break them autozone or schucks sells them.

you need a special fuel line disconnect tool. Most auto stores sell them

don't worry about the plastic clips so much. They're not really a big deal. I haven't had mine for years. Just make sure the connectors are seated well.

Re: quick question about removing fuel lines???

well, i've got the disconnector tools, and got the smaller of the two lines off, but i can't get the bigger one off. I've been trying for a couple hours so far and still haven't been able to get the tool to go all the way in (and yes, it is the right size- i bought a variety pack. are there any tricks for this? the first one came off easily and i really want to drive my car again.

part of the harness stays attached to the tank itself, there should be a connector about half way back to the car
