Yeah the 4r70 is an AODE derivative (Ford modified old designs vs clean slate new ones in the 90's more often than not). I'm curious to the reasoning for leaving OD off around town from a builder's standpoint. Not at all saying you're wrong genuinely curious. I mean yes OD does create more heat BUT if you've got a performance car with an auto the biggest cooler reasonable should be the first thing you add.

The OD band isn't able to sustain shifts at WOT for very long. When I was talking to a few reputable builders they all mentioned they had seen considerable failure mostly because people don't turn off their OD and then get on it through the gears into OD.
