I have a 1997 non P.I. engine with stock heads and intake. I was wanting to put P.I. heads on, but my firend told me I needed to put the P.I. intake on or the heads wouldn't fit. Is that true??? Thanks, Matt

short answer is no, that's not correct. The heads will go on fine just that when it comes time to top them off with the lower intake, it won't match the NPI intake that you have on your engine now. net-net, if you do the PI heads, get the (port) matching PI intake to take full advantage of the hp and avoid any sealing issues.

Ok, here is MY question.... how much more HP will the PI heads/intake net me over just tossing some PI Cams into my NPI heads?? I mean, if it's only say 15-25 more HP, then I dont think it is worth it really. I'd rather spend the extra cash/time on something a little more useful like say some cosmetic mods.

I have been drag-racing for many years, and just as a factor, just say 100lbs of weight is on avg 1/10th of a second, so just remove the rear seats, get some other weight reduction and walla.... you got your 20 hp you were hoping for, and it cost you nothing.

well i look at it this way, the stock 99 up make 260 fly wheel hp... well the 96-98 with the bump in compression would make around 275 prbly. So I would say it would add a good deal, but people on here seems to go with the other rout though. to each their own.

properly done PI swap withaftermarket cams, and you are in the 300 rwhp range, only aroimd 25 less than a blower on a stock motor, and half the price. I see PI swap the only way to go, cuzi dont want to go blown.
