Ok I am going to assume this would be the best place for this post. I have a cracked exhaust manifold and am going to go ahead and put aftermarket shorties in. I found a set of "pace setter" shorties that I kind of liked. However, I am not familiar with this brand. I am not looking for alot of power...its a v6...just want some better sound then the stock headers and a little extra power wouldnt hurt. Anyone had experience with these? I'd love to get some opinions. The ones I found are ceramic coated $300. Thanks

aftermarket shorties have no power gains and no sound difference.

the only pro's for them are:

1. they wont crack again like stock shorties
2. they look shiny under the hood

in conclusion, waste of money for shorties. you can get your old ones repaired by welding the crack closed or getting stock shorties again. the crack is caused by cold A/C condensation dripping onto the hot manifold, you can make a small bracket to deflect the dripping away from the manifold, then it wont crack again.

and honestly, it takes near 5-10 years for the manifolds to crack. i doubt it will crack again under your ownership of the car.

my take, either Longtube headers or Stock Shorties

I agree, I was going to have my stock ones welded, but they are beyond repair according to two different muffler shops. So, I just found some pacesetter shorties "not ceramic" that will cost about the same as purchasing stock exhaust manifolds. So, would that be the way to go? Maybe they'll last a little better than the OEM's like atlanticblue98 said? I guess a tube would work to redirect the condensation from the AC.
