I found why my top would not work as stated in a earlier thread.. oil just flew out a cracked plastic line at bottom of line by elbo. While waiting on new lines I was wondering: Is it good idea to replace cylinders too? I heard aftermarket are not as good as original and I think mine are ok.. Or should I go ahead and drop $350 for new quality ones? I honestly don't see why as car only has 70k on it. thoughts?

it all depends on your financial situation and how much you value your time. If you can afford it and don't want to mess with them later then sure I would swap them out, and just keep the old ones in my spare pile for IF I happen to need it later. If your on a tight budget, well don't fix it if it ain't broke and hope for the best.

decided to just swap out. ordered from American Muscle since theirs has 3 year warranty and only total $179/pr.

If it were me and I was knee deep in a project like that and there will be down time I also normally will replace things that might not yet be broken but it would take me an hour or two of labor to get in there again I replace them. I have a shelf in my garage of spare parts now from window regulators to random parts here/there.
