Ok, so SilverV6 was over and we decided we wanted to paint his roof black. We know the car is not cosmetically sound yet, we are getting it there.

It needs to be repainted so we wanted to take a trial run with spray paint to see if the black roof was a yes. We like it.

Again, we know the clear coat is peeling, no need to point it out. I think this was pretty good for $15.

Just took a couple pics, had other stuff to do:

I think i like it but did you notice the clear peeling? (joking). I kinda thought about trying it on mine once i get enough black on the car.

We just snapped a couple because the sun was on its way down, this was the last patch of light in my neighborhood, even though it looks like the middle of the day ha!

Its a rough job, we did not prep it like I would have if it was getting professionally done. I scraped off most of the clear with a scraper, then scuffed with 400. Being a rattle can it didn't lay down as evenly as I could do with a real sprayer, but I didn't feel like mixing and calibrating the gun, etc.

I used a full can of duplicolor engine enamel gloss black (didnt have the truck/van/suv paint in gloss black for some reason) and when that ran out just grabbed a can of krylon interior/exterior paint from the garage. Again, this was mostly to get an idea because as soon as he can afford bumpers and a new fender, we are getting this thing preppdr and ready for real paint.

Thanks for the compliments guys :) I'm sure he will be happy.

Onyx, couldn't have made it look so good without your help!

In the works my friend, in the works :)

Pictures don't show how messed up the bumpers are =/ Previous owner put like deck screws through the front bumper to hold it on. In the past couple months we have transformed this thing.

Thanks for the compliments :)

Confused how you would try to take pics of a painted roof and barely get the roof in pics at all :D

From what little I can see it looks good, will need more black accents to really pull it off though
