this hasnt swayed me from doing the swap but practical im doing mine after i get off deployments next year and do a stroker kit with p&p'ed heads and an after market cam with a small nitrous setup. i hate doing a job twice when i could have done better the first time up.

like JR said..if you did it right there shouldnt be any problems with coolant and all that crap. ill bet you $$$ that your running lean man. go to advanced auto or autozone and they will read your code for free...
why dont people listen to me, lmao. the intake will NOT make him run that lean. please, i have done this mod. had the SAME exact issue. Mine turned out to be a fouled plug. the PI intake will not cause his car to run lean enough to have driveability issues.

I had the same exact issue as well...and it was the same plug as you described...coolant in the hole.

i had the same problem too..

SEE?! im not just blowin smoke here bro. lol. alot of people have had the misfire issue and were not extremely lean.

You're full of crap Jerry, they are running lean.

Naw, you're really not, it's some other issue. No duh a tune would be best, but you can run a full PI swap, with mild cams, and still not have a tune, and you won't be dangerously lean.

lol been a long time since i've been on...
easy to nag at someone when they arent here...

well im here to tell you i put on the kit and im running lean. if you want to come tell me OBD2 that it's worng feel free to. :)

hopefully that will fix my problems.

im not saying your blowing smoke man and im not trying to offend anyone. i was mearly giving a suggestion from ME who has the EXACT same problem with the EXACT same kit. and as for the kit vs. the silicone cool! im happy yours worked out great i truely am . however i just feel more comfortable with the kit than having silicone as a gasket :happydrunks: it would just drive me crazy knkowing i have silicone down there :p

[end rant]

hope you figured out your problem!

wish other people understood that... everybody told me my fucking motor went because of tune... I wanted to bet each one 100 bucks and say no it wasnt. I pulled my plugs and they looked better than plugs out of a stock car IMO... I cant believe people's ignorance.

BTW i just put a PI intake on NPI heads yesterday... dont know if it runs yet though.

yup, and im gonna go out on a limb and say it might be the same cylinder that was missing on me, passenger side, 4th one back. my car did the EXACT same thing yours is doing.

its going to be:

1. Plug fouled
2. Plug wire not fully seated
3. Coolant in the plug hole
It really does happen to alot of folks.
Same thing happened to me when I had my 96 GT.Somehow coolant got into
two of my plug holes one on each side.I ended up having to install new Motorcraft
spark plugs and spark plug wires because coolant ruined two of my spark plugs and spark
plug wires. When you do mods on your vehicle be aware of unwanted/hidden costs.

order you an Xcal 3 from lasota and that light will go away, lol. AND you will pick up almost 5 tenths in the 1/4

it ended up being the plugs and wires, i blew out the plug wells and replaced the wires and plugs and now it runs good. i for sure can feel the difference in the upper rpm range, and i dont have any idle probs, all in all im happy with it.
i want to get it tuned, is it much of a difference? right now i have no tune at all, the computer is totally stock, can they dyno tune without me having a tuner because there is a Dasilva racing shop by my work and i know they have a dyno

You can tune it without a tuner, BUT you are stuck with whatever they do to it, no changing or tweaking. And after the first 300 dollar tuning bill, you just keep right on getting them.

I wouldn't waste a dyno tune on a PI intake swap personally.
