Alright, Im a Newb here and im about to dive into a PI swap. I got a killer deal on a set of PI heads along with some Comp XE270AH cams. Ive been doing some poking around and Ive seen that in order to get this combo to work the cams need to be degreed. While I'm doing all of this, Im going to be replacing the timing chain and what not with the trick flow 2v timing kit (http://www.cushmanmotorsports.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=11_229_230_1_285&products_id=2129). Now, I need to know how far I need to advance/retard the cams in order to maintain proper valve clearance.

If anyone can shed some light on this it'd be appreciated!

My relationship with the internet has turned into a love/hate relationship over the last week or so. Im trying to figure this stuff out and it seems like EVERYONE has a different opinion, but it is nice to hear from someone that has actually done the swap, and is running the cams, instead of some douche that regurgitates whatever he hears from someone who heard it from their sister's boyfriend's cousin.

I'll be looking into the degreeing of the cams, and I'll post up results!

I had those cams in my PI headswap for a little while and really liked them. You will need new springs to run them and a tune.

Check out www.modularheadshop.comhttp:// for Nick's write up on degreeing modular cams as well as great deals on the parts you might need.

good cams got me to 12.6's... they will need to be degreeded and suggest new springs as well.
