A lot of European Mustang-lovers went to Las Vegas or Charlotte this year to celebrate Mustang's 50th anniversary. I wasn't that lucky.
However I wanted to celebrate Mustang's birthday so my wife and I packed up the Mustang and went to the German celebration of the Mustangs.
It was held on an old airfield just outside Koeln (Cologne) in Germany. On Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th of June they expected about 550 Mustangs... and rumour spread that Ford would bring a 2015 Mustang...
We had an awesome weekend... There was a heat-wave in that part of Germany with temperatures of 90+ degrees F. In total more than 1000 (!!!) Mustangs have shown up on both days...
It's impossible to show all photo's but I've taken the ones that impressed me most, and of the most interesting SN95's. Enjoy!
Mustangs, Mustangs as far as the eye could see...
Impressive 03 Cobra:
Nice 96 GT:
Just look at the engine of this Terminator...
Never seen this hood in real life in Europe...
Yes, this is a real SALEEN COBRA... Never seen one in real life...
A lot of old Mustangs, but my interest is more in newer models:
Japanese / export model, complete with fenders, fold-in mirrors and export tails and Japanese stickers...
Because of tax differences, there are a LOT more new Mustangs in Germany compared to the Netherlands. I've never seen so many new Mustangs in one place
Got power?
Got power? II
Germans LOVE to dress up their Ami-car as police-cars...
GT500s as far as the eyes could see... In my opinions there were more 05+ GT500's than there were 05+ GT's...
Stumbled across this rare purple - think it's a 96?
I was there with my 98 Bright Atlantic Blue, and I was happy to find both a 98 Atlantic Blue and a 95 Bright Blue... Us three represented all three bright blue colors of 94-98 SN95's.
This car was an absolute beauty!
Gotta-have-it-snake-eyes
This fastback was restored to perfection with the exception of the stick holding up the hood...
A rare find: a 96GT with original side-exhaust and a BOSS Shinoda rear spoiler:
Very nice flame job!
And then there was Saturday evening... The program said an announcement would be made by FORD. Ford is located in Koeln, as the Ford Fiesta is built there. Rumour spread Ford brought a 2015 Mustang...
Not just that, but it turned out Ford choose this event for the official presentation of the 2015 Ford Convertible!!! This car had not been shown in Europe at all - the coupe was shown in December but not the convertible. This was the first time EVER this car was presented in Europe.
And I was standing right there!
It truely is a beauty
Also presented: the coupe with the 4-cyl engine for the European market. Both cars were preproduction cars.
