A lot of European Mustang-lovers went to Las Vegas or Charlotte this year to celebrate Mustang's 50th anniversary. I wasn't that lucky.

However I wanted to celebrate Mustang's birthday so my wife and I packed up the Mustang and went to the German celebration of the Mustangs.

It was held on an old airfield just outside Koeln (Cologne) in Germany. On Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th of June they expected about 550 Mustangs... and rumour spread that Ford would bring a 2015 Mustang...

We had an awesome weekend... There was a heat-wave in that part of Germany with temperatures of 90+ degrees F. In total more than 1000 (!!!) Mustangs have shown up on both days...

It's impossible to show all photo's but I've taken the ones that impressed me most, and of the most interesting SN95's. Enjoy!

Mustangs, Mustangs as far as the eye could see...

Yes, this is a real SALEEN COBRA... Never seen one in real life...

A lot of old Mustangs, but my interest is more in newer models:

Japanese / export model, complete with fenders, fold-in mirrors and export tails and Japanese stickers...

Because of tax differences, there are a LOT more new Mustangs in Germany compared to the Netherlands. I've never seen so many new Mustangs in one place

GT500s as far as the eyes could see... In my opinions there were more 05+ GT500's than there were 05+ GT's...

Stumbled across this rare purple - think it's a 96?

I was there with my 98 Bright Atlantic Blue, and I was happy to find both a 98 Atlantic Blue and a 95 Bright Blue... Us three represented all three bright blue colors of 94-98 SN95's.

A rare find: a 96GT with original side-exhaust and a BOSS Shinoda rear spoiler:

And then there was Saturday evening... The program said an announcement would be made by FORD. Ford is located in Koeln, as the Ford Fiesta is built there. Rumour spread Ford brought a 2015 Mustang...

Not just that, but it turned out Ford choose this event for the official presentation of the 2015 Ford Convertible!!! This car had not been shown in Europe at all - the coupe was shown in December but not the convertible. This was the first time EVER this car was presented in Europe.

And I was standing right there!

Also presented: the coupe with the 4-cyl engine for the European market. Both cars were preproduction cars.

On Sunday, the show went on... Look at this pimped-out firetruck-Mustang?

This 86GT was restored perfectly:

The top-part of this Mustang was painted bright orange by House of Kolors - the most beautiful orange I've ever seen on a car.

Talk about orange... This GT500 was perfect.

I really liked this one!

The party is not complete without a GT:

Then there's my car, in between some friends with a Parnelli Jones Saleen and a 98Cobra in yellow:

If I had a million bucks, I'd buy this one:

Saleen:

But there's more... A friend of mine totally rebuilt his 95 Mustang into a tribute of the 90s SALEEN RACING TEAM by TIM ALLEN. It took him 15 years to get all the information, the paint job alone took 6 months... It was finished just last week and he used the show to present it to the world.

Needless to say it attrackted a lot of attention and many people never heard of it. It just shows how little people know about the impopular SN95...

So here it is - next to mine.
10371687_700501536681759_5319706949195798031_n.jpg

And we took the opportunity to make a few shots with the 3 most beautiful 94-98 SN95's of the Netherlands...

That's all, hope you enjoyed! How many of you want to move to Europe now?

Don't forget Ford is a global company. Ford has been building European cars for over 100yrs, think about the Fiesta, the Focus, the Sierra, etc. So Ford is huge in Europe as well. The Ford factory in Koeln is one of Ford's biggest in the world - it's a complete city. So Ford is very much established. The Mustang is not sold in Europe, but it has a huge fan base.

But this was a huge event, which attracted people from all over Europe. I've never been to such a big meeting before. They had over 1000 Mustangs show up on the two days. It was organised by the German Mustang Club and Ford Europe... They did a great job.

Which reminds me of this Ford commercial:

I took my Mustang up to 210 km/h (130 mph) on the way back on the German autobahn - the car would go on but I had my wife in the car with me :D

Great stuff Maarten!

Did that export stang have rear bumper flares? I didn't know they had different rear bumpers.

Were there lots of sn95s compared to other mustangs? Or do you just like taking pictures of the good stuff :)

There weren't many SN95s - I think I posted 75% of them here. The majority was either 64-68 or 05+ with a fair share of 69-73. The Mustang II, fox and SN95 weren't presented much but the ones that were there were generally in very good shape.

Great pics! I missed going up there :(
I see a few pics of the WPOH (Wild Ponies of Hanau). They're a great bunch of Mustang owners.

Awesome pictures man! I'm surprised too that there is a mustang fan base like that over there. I'd have to say my favorite was the jap export SN.

Here's a video of Ford itself about the meeting - apparently it was the biggest Mustang meeting in Europe EVER.

It also shows you Americans a bit what it's like to be a Mustang driver in Europe.

EDIT: hahahaha, just found out my wife and I are right in the foreground @ 1.25 in that video :D

Thats alot of GT500s didn't expect that. I had a room mate years ago that came from Germany to America just to buy a mustang. He bought a 65 with a 2v 289. I asked him why he bought the 2v he said it was for tax reasons they taxed more for the 4v. Which is why i was surprised to see the Gt 500s. Lots of very cool cars nice pics. The fox drag car was my favorite.

It looks better than the Las Vegas show, the only things that were cool were seeing a 2015 Mustang, cool Mustang stuff to buy, taking a new Ford around track and a race car after that, there wasn't very many modified Mustangs but had a few modified gt500s, and there wasn't even one 95 Cobra R there, had a 93 Cobra R and a 2000 Cobra R.
