Those chrome cobra letters look sick man. I wanted to get some for mine but it's dfg so i'm not sure what would actually look good...

I bought the cobra bumper and it happened to be mystic, my car is dfg i wanted to get the bumper on just to see how it looked! and the green on the bumper blends in pretty well with the green of the car, either way i decided to leave it on and when my wife came home from work she decided that my stang is going to be repainted mystic!!! God, I love my wife so much right now, going to get some prices on repainting the car next week after the holiday...

It is very difficult to get ahold of the actual basf mystic paint. BUT there are others that are out there that are just as nice (if you like that stuff) PPG makes some and its called Harliquin. Both paints are very expensive and you need to have a particular base color. When i sprayed harliquin it watned a black base coat then the harliquin and then clear. Some depending on the color shift will want a white or a gray. If you dont use the correct color it will come out "muddy" or wont flop correctly

i ment to ad for a while basf would collect ALL the left over paint, they would collect ALL the test cards, sprayed paper and tape so that nothing was left in your shop JUST the paint that was on the car.....

Good luck finding the true Ford Mystic paint! Most shops can't do it and when they attempt it, turns out mediocre. I believe the dealer can still get the paint. My car is DFG as well, when it's buffed and polished, almost looks mystic in certain light! Nice bumper and that's awesome you're getting it painted!

it's funny you mentioned that! when I had mydfg detailed it looked like it had hints of blue when the sun hit it a certain way!

it may have some pearl or be a tri coat paint. pearl will give you the flop effect seein in these attached photos (yellow straight on, and then the yellow has an orange tinge to it when at an angle...) painted for a project when i was at Wyotech....

That's the beauty of DFG, it has a little bit of a flop to it. My 95 Bronco was that way and it looked green sometimes, blue other times, and black is it was real cloudy. I loved it.

my old bumper looks good, but i doubt you'll be able to get the Mystic paint. i believe they have to check the vin number of the car before they will place an order for the paint.
