Well The other day I put on my BBK longtubes, great fitment was awesome no issues at all, So i purchased an shorty offroad x from summit and go to put it on tonight and it doesnt even line up I mean like not even close about 1 1/2" off, I figure ok no big deal ill just call summit and have them replace it, So I call summit and they tell me sorry theres nothing we can do as you tried to fit the pipe, I was a bit confused at their response because the pipe was never actually bolted to the vehicle, anyway they tell me to call bbk, and Now im just getting the run around from bbk telling me to call summit back because all of BBK's items are welded in jigs and there can be nothing wrong and that for a refund or replacement to go through summit :wall:

If its off that much on the one side, could be an OR-X for a 96 up car with LTs?

whats the part number that was on the box (or check your invoice)?

could be a possibility that it was not packaged properly? or you ordered the wrong one?

Should be 1671 for the off road X for the 94-95 cars.
If it says 1635 (which is for the 96-04 cars with LTs) you got the wrong one.

how is it off, is the pipe buckled in/out or is it short and doesnt reach the collector, this may sound stupid but do you have the x-pipe upside down cause i think one side is a little longer than the other or if its buckled in or out then you can just bend it to fit, it aint going to hurt anything

How about clarity and sentence structure "FTW" you twit. Nowhere in your first post did you indicate said offroad x-pipe was also a BBK unit.

Paul.

well i meant no offense by the reading comprehension statement I'm sorry you took it that way Paul, as well as you Ryclef. I honestly look up to your guys wisdom on the forum. Just figured It was easy to tell regarding my first post that I had also purchased a BBK x-pipe as well because how summit told me to call BBK about the x-pipe. No need to get fired up and go with the name calling guys :dancing6:

And yes stang94 I made sure I was trying to fasten the pipe in the correct way.

if you have 94-95 longtubes, and 94-95 x-pipe for longtubes, then i wouldn't see how it wouldn't fit.
did you try flipping it around, upside down. i don't mean to doubt your competence, but it just sounds like
a simple install mistake... :dunno:

I had the same problem with the BBK LT/ Off Road X that I bought from Summit. I ended up hacking up a MAC H-pipe, because it seemed like less work (and fit better with the torque arm).

hm, that is strange i LOVE BBK and never have had any issues whatsoever with fittment. Could it be possibly that your x pipe was labeled incorrectly? if i were you i would call summit and ask to speak to a sales manager, not a customer service rep if thats whta they are telling you, dont tell them that you put it on the car, just say that you matched it up to a friends straight out of the box and they will exchange it. that is really strange for them to not accept it as a return, hmm.

Ok well I called BBK again and got ahold of someone who actually knew what he was talking about lol, He told me that some of the pipes end up not lining up because something to do with the cooling process when it comes out of the jigs, and he said if Summit wont take it back to send it back to BBK and they would replace it for free under warranty, So im going to call summit up and see if they're willing to take it back because their so much closer shipping wise than BBK and the wait time wouldnt be as long.
