Hey all, I've got these weird things wedged inbetween the coils on my springs (came on the car when I bought it), I sort of understand what they are doing (sort of) but I'm looking for more information on them. I have no idea what they are called and googling "weird spring wedge thingies" is getting me dubious results. One side might have one "wedge", while the other might have two... Here are two pictures of them, if anyone can help me out with more info I'd much appreciate it!

Also, while I'm asking (and I understand that it's not a suspension issue), I have what looks like an oil cooler under the front bumper in front of the A/C condensor, facing downwards, on the driver side. Does anyone know what this is, as in is it a stock item that came on the car, like a trans cooler or something? It doesn't look aftermarket (meaning the oil cooler isn't connected to the oil filter location), and I have a manual trans. What is this guy? Thanks!!

Coil spring spacers, they are supposed to help the spring to not bottom out, in truth what they usually do is just make the ride worse

Ah, okay, so that's what they are called. Thanks a lot! :) So I can remove these guys then? Any idea on how to do that? I'm guessing it would be easier with the spring off the car, but perhaps with the side jacked up and some droop on the wheel? Can I knock them out or something?
