Hey guys i am thinking of picking up a set of e7's for cheap. When i say cheap like 20 bucks cheap. I was thinking obviously it wouldn't be worth having the e7's ported but if you did it yourself i think it might be fun and maybe possibly produce some good numbers. I have been searching around and seeing what works and what doesn't so i am thinking why not give it a try. What do you guys think. Get a Carbide bit for the dremel or just hook up the air compressor. Ideas???

I have done it before, i did a few other things when i ported the heads but they seemed to flow pretty good. I had the valves out so i did all in the bowls and down the runners. I also did the upgraded spring kit too

Ok i thought it would be fun to try and the only thing i would be doing really is learning. So i figured it couldn't hurt to try. When you say flowed pretty good could you tell a difference ?? What other things did you do at that time ??

are you going to use them on your car or are you just porting them to know how to do it?

go to www.diyporting.com lots of great information there on porting the e7s. those heads can make some decent power with a simple port job. the main gains will be doing the bowl work and on the exhaust side. just follow that website. the only down fall is that cast iron is very time consuming to port. im gonna find a set of gt40s and port them myself as well.

I have a friend that ports E7's and GT40 heads..he does it on the side and does great work. If you want his email or phone number....shoot me a PM and ill set you up with the info. I am sure he is more than willing to give you advice of the do's and don't's of the stock cast iron heads.

He ported the GT40's on my old 92 LX with a T5/GT40 intake/GT40 Heads/crane 2031 setup.

After his port work the car made 262rwhp. He gasket matched the intake, ported the exhaust to the exact size of the shorty headers, blended the bowls and did a 3 angle valve job. He also installed the TFS valve spring kit.

Well i figure for 20 bucks and some time i could have a decent set of heads. Why not it will only waste time. It will also be a good learning experience also. If i can go to the Junkyard and grab up a set of GT40's for cheap i will but i would rather try porting a set of E7's first just to see how much would be involved.
