Would be a nice upgrade from the 96 GT. I say go for it. Especially for that price.

make sure you check and make sure there are no accidents or anything, as well as the "intake fix". that is a VERY good price for a 99 Cobra with that low miles..

the intake fixm was a 99 year recall on the cobra, the car wasnt making the advertised 320hp, a recall was issued and the intake was replaced so that it could actualy make the 320hp

^ The intakes on the 99 Cobras were supposed to be upgraded from the 98's. Basically Ford claimed that the new Cobra had 320hp as opposed to the 305 from the 96-98s. People started to complain that they coulndn't tell a diffrence and magazines started writting that the Cobra didn't live up to Fords perfomance claims. So in 99 they recalled all 99 cobras and replaced the intakes. That's why if you do a search you'll find that there was no 2000 Cobra made except for the R model. Ford did a small redisign (ie; "COBRA" on the rear bumper, different badging, things like that) and put the correct intakes on the 2001 Cobra model.

redesign? my 96 has cobra in the rear bumper.... or did you mean like, dif letter styling or something?

but dude, i would do some research, lik..

price exhaust...
catted midpipes, unless you dont have emissions..
just price parts.....

like shyt that could go wrong....
price brakes, go to a shop and ask how much it would be to replace headgasskets ( if you cant do them yourself...)

im not trying to be an ass man, just trying to save you some time money and hassle, because when i bought mine, i didnt do the research...

and now i have found out, that i cant afford my car. as bad as a hate to say it.

ford did more then an intake swap

they swapped in a new intake, changed the tune and also had a new exhaust setup for it to make the 320 HP.

Also modding a new edge cobra does not seem any more expensive then a 96+ GT

Snakebit-To answer your question you posted a while ago, the redesign i was reffering to was on the 99 Cobras the word "MUSTANG" was stamped into the rear bumper. 2001 it was changed to "COBRA". Plus the SVT badges changed. I didn't know they redid the exhaust and all that crap. That's alot of parts to screw up on the factory side of things.
