In the shop
Well, a good friends son has helped me out in my shop alot this year. I mentioned making a drag car with all the parts i got laying around and that excited him. Im also trying to get my kids involved into motorsports racing of somesort. Ideally we all come together in this build and take it racing as a family.

Very true. I'm surprised someone hasn't tried to replicate them.

Not really a purchase, but something I built many years ago as a coffee table and finally got moved out to my building/shop so's I got something solid to work on now!! Built it out 2x6's and 2x4's so it's pretty solid!! IMG_20201104_171638851.jpg

I bought somethin.......IMG_20201108_130429291.jpg

It came with all the mounts for the accessories, belts, pulleys, alternator, a power steering pump, AC pump....IMG_20201108_130451302_HDR.jpg
Allll the wiring harness..... IMG_20201108_130511621_HDR.jpg

It even came with this!!!!20201107_1358043661.jpg
Full computer box to go with it!!
What y'all's looking at is a fully dressed 460 out of a 97 F-350 with approximately 150,000 miles on it!! Engine oil is clean, the antifreeze is still green, and under the oil fill cap is clean as well!! So no blown gaskets, no oil in the antifreeze or vice versa!! I've checked the casting numbers on the heads and the block, and they are correct, it's even got the double hump oil pan that's needed to drop it on a fox k-member!! I am planning on going thru it completely tho, aluminum heads, intake manifold, and water pump.. Gotta trim that weight down.. Big block power, here we come baby!!!!

Is there much difference between the newer 460’s and the old FE motors??

Lots!!!! I can bore and stroke this thing out to a 557 cubic inches if I had the $$ and they weigh a butt load less... Heads on the 429-460 big blocks breathe a lot better than the old FE series... Think Cleveland on steroids!! ;)

Oh hell no! I've always wanted a big block!! This one is my first and I've wanted to do a big block foxbody for the last 30 years!!! If I don't croak out before I get it finished I'll finally have me one!!

I like big blocks. I was really close to buying a 392 challenger a year or so ago but I got my truck instead.
