I have a 94 GT AODE with 125k. Im curious to what kind of options I have here. Id like to run a Kenne Bell or a rear mount turbo but am scared to run boost with my old engine. Should I be worried? Ive also looked into Nitrous and wondered how my engine will react to that? My car has run a best of 15.3 with the mods in my sig as of now, all my friends are blowing me away with blowers and nitrous but they have alot less miles on their cars. Please any information on what i can expect to put my engine through before it goes? Thank you

Its all in the tune. No matter what you go with, make sure to have a dyno tune as soon as it goes on. A/F ratio with plenty of fuel and keep it safe and I don't see a problem with 400rwhp with a turbo set up. Also, I'd worry more about the tranny before you worry about the motor with 125k.

It's all a matter of what you like for a power adder S/C, turbo, OR nitrous. If you ask me.... Well i'll probably say nitrous FTW just because i have a nitrous injected mustang and also because i've driven turbo mustangs before in cluding mine wich was turbo and there is nothing like a bottle but they all have their pros and cons.....

In the case of the higher mileage, it is not all about the tune. If the internals are weak, they will not be able to handle it regardless of the tune. Power adders are really all about personal preference, but either way, do a leakdown test before hand to determine how much abuse you can put that engine through.

AODE's are pretty damn strong for the most part.

The stub shaft on a 97 and older AODE is not hardened so they are weak. Your stock converter will also pretty much be blown to pieces with a power adder.

How do I do a Leakdown Test?
