Power to fuel pump

History: Can't get the last 1/4 of the fuel from the tank. New fuel pump last May. Pulled tank and bottom dented. I'll get a new tank someday.

Problem: After reassembling everything, I only get 6 volts to the pump (Brown w/ pink wire from inertia switch). Checked power to the inertia switch, only get 6 volts to it (Green w/yellow wire from computer). Pump runs fine w/ outside 12 volts.

HELP! Obviously, it doesn't run now. What the hell did I do wrong?

How far back did you trace the power? Also, when I had a problem it was my CCRM.

green w/ yellow into the inertia from computer. I didn't figure there would be any difference at the computer output.

I'm going to disconnect the battery today and hope something resets itself. Otherwise, I fear the computer has done what computers do...

OK, got another CCRM, no change. Bypassed the inertia switch and got the pump to run but no pressure. Sounds weak, not the high pitch normally heard. Took my CCRM apart, no burn spots.

Help!

Double check CCRM and Pump. I honestly dont know. Unless you trace the entire line.

do you have a volt meter?
Are you sure your getting voltage to the ccrm to begin with?
sorry, I don't have a wiring diagram but a haynes manual should be able to help.

Haynes has a cloud where the CCRM is. I followed the power into it and out of it with my Fluke. 12 in, 6 out.

No burned spots like some have said.

Check your power off your fusebox, possible corrosion and such, and maybe the grounds on the fuel pump assembly. Doesnt the fuel pump get its power off a relay in the under-hood fuse box, and the CCRM supplies the signal to operate it? *goes to garage to get haynes manual*.....

That's wierd. Do you have anyone else nearby that you could use as a redneck blueprint to verify your readings?

I have my rear end apart, i guess I could see what my fuel pump readings are and post up, if you still need them.

Anything might help. Get a resistance reading if you can on the pump ground.

Cool, hope the schematic shows better than Haynes. No other Mustangs in this area, Handz is about 30 minutes away...thanks for the help.

OK...went to the junk yard, bought a '94 tank with the pump in it, swapped it out and gosh darn if it doesn't work now? Makes it even harder to troubleshoot when it runs!!!

Must be the 11 month old BBK pump took a dump for some unknown reason...
