Powersteering oil

My powersteering oil is black, is this normal?

And after i finished my old tires last week it was like i had no powersteering at all, (thats when i checked the oil)
but everything got back to normal after i let the car run for a while to cool off.
Its getting me worried.

well it was clean at one point. Every older ford that I have checked the fluid on all have a blackish color to the old fluid.

It's normal, but if it's been a while or you've never done it I would swap in some new oil.

It will turn black after a while, same as with motor oil. However, it should have a visible red tint to it or it's too old, IMO.
