Hey guys! well....i've had the car for a bit now and have been posting from time to time new pics of the car in members rides etc but i decided while I have free time and am on this deployment (car is getting work done as i type), that i would show you guys a timeline of where it was when i got it to what i have now. my goal is to make this car a nationals worthy SCCA solo autox car as well as be fun on the track days and still be streetable. (have to quick change spring rates for street)
mods so far

-Engine/Exhaust
BBK 65 mm throttle body
MSD Blaster coil
Ford racing Plug wires
(all of these came with the car when i bought it)
SLP Loudmouth II catback with race mufflers

-Suspension
Maximum Motorsports Coilover kit front and rear
Koni single adjustable front struts
Koni single adjustable rear shocks
Deleted rear quad shocks (for clearance issues on coilovers)
MM caster camber plates
MM urethane tie rod end dust boots
Front spring rate 375lb
Rear spring rate 275lb
MM 1/2 in wheel spacers out back
UPR upper and lower rear control arms

-Wheels/Tires
17x9in Rota Grids on all 4 corners
275/40-17 Nitto NT-05's on all 4 corners

-Drivetrain
Ford racing aluminum driveshaft
Torsen limited slip differential
Ford Racing 3.73 gears

Soon to come-
BBK offroad x
BBK shorty headers(stole both of these off of a racecar I bought but couldn't finish due to deployment. sold the car....stole what i wanted off it....lmao)
MSD digital 6a ignition w/pigtail

-on the wish list
CCW classics 17x11 on all 4 corners
Maier racing custom front fender flares
315 Hoosier race slicks on all 4 corners
MM panhard bar
MM subframe connectors(should be soon to come)

-in works
my buddy Mat has the car right now while I'm deployed. he is a wyotech instructor. he's putting the full exhaust on for me, ignition, and filling the holes on my trunk lid as well as making a custom adjustable ducktail spoiler for me. All will be repainted color matched. and then a dyno/tune after all is said and done. right now the car was dynoed stock at 225hp and 300ish torque. not too bad for stock rwhp. here's some pics!

first Autox with the new suspension! ride height was too low in the rear on the first day. car was bouncing really bad. found to be riding on the pinion snubber.

oh wait....my bad. wrong wheels. lmao. those are $2500 for a set of 4 depending on the size and offset you get. that's for the race version. the street ones are a little more expensive, weigh more and come with center caps.

Nice start. I'm going to make an assumption here, since there's no markings on the car to indicate what class you're running. You're building for SM, correct? I have a buddy that ran his '94 Cobra in SM for a couple years and had a blast. It seems to be the only class that a Mustang with suspension mods really fits in.

2 suggestions for you, if you haven't already heard these before:

1: Get a set of the helper springs for your rear coilovers. The will make it so that the rear springs don't unseat/reseat all the time while driving on the street and eliminates a lot of the clunking in the rear end when you're pulling onto uneven surfaces. Well worth the money when you're running rear coilovers on the street.

2: If you're serious about AutoX, go ahead and get a panhard bar/torque arm combo next before anything else. It will make the largest difference of anything you have listed. The car will be seriously planted in the rear. The one thing I miss the most from my car when I swapped over to drag racing is the panhard bar. It made an immediate huge difference both in handling and street manners.

Looks like it is coming along. Like the rims on your wish list. Are the 11x17 going to fit. I know on the griggs setup that am going to eventally do, you have to get the big tire kit to run 305/315s in the front.

thank you. well #1. i'm running E street prepared. esp is pretty much a class made for our types of cars. and it's cheaper than SM. my car is basically legal for it now and with the hp it has and the bigger slicks and wheels when i get them it will be a nationals worthy car. if i tried to make it for sm...i would get destroyed. lol. 500hp evo's and sti's are tough to beat with a 250hp rear drive 3200lb mustang.

#2. the helper spring would be a good idea but i don't have very many issues with driving on the street and once i get back from this deployment it's gonna mostly be a weekend street/trailer to the track queen.

#3. the MM panhard bar is also on my wish list. and if it really makes that much of a difference then i'm definitely gonna try it out.

your right though....i'm having a blast in esp. my brother won the scca sacramento chapter championship in it last year in his 2008 gt with full steeda suspension and race slicks. i'm going the mm route to try and whoop up on him a little bit. haha.

there's gonna need to be mods done to my car yes. but the biggest thing is offset and that company tailors each wheel to your needs. i will most likely be rolling the rear fenders and getting flares for the front but i have seen it done as a few years ago the E Street prepared national champ drove a 95 gt that had 17x11's on all 4 corners with 315 hoosier slicks. and thanks. i'm loving the build so far.

I forgot about ESP to be honest. I am working with my 350Z a little, thinking about running C-Stock next season, but the Mustang is eating all my funds right now, and rightfully so. I like the Mustang more than the 350Z........ lol

They're a great setup for Autocross except for the weight. The suspension geometry is absolutely perfect. You can also fit a huge tire front and rear on them, and they have plenty of horsepower for autocross (287 stock). The problem is because of the suspension geometry and mid-front engine/rear wheel drive setup, they're put in the same class as the S2000, Miata and RX8. It'll smoke any of them in a drag race, but because those 3 cars are so light, they rip the 350Z apart in autocross. My only real choices are C-Stock or SSM, either of which are hard to compete with the above mentioned cars that are race prepped. There's also the ST branded supplemental classes that they run, but they're tire restricted so much that the weight and power of the 350Z are too much for a 245 size full street tire and if you go into STX, you're up against badass cars that you'll never touch.

i would go c stock to be honest. because you could put some slicks on the stock wheels or a different set of wheels that are the same size and go. it would be cheap and still fun.
