I know your really excited about this car but that looks like a long and pricey resto. Being that you only have $500 in it have you considered parting it out? You could easily get 1500-2000 and flip that money into another one with less work. I'm all for your original plans but would hate to see you sink money into something then lose interest. I haven't drove my car in 2yrs now because of my resto and im only a 3rd of the way through it. On the other hand im older and in no hurry to get it out on the road again where as if i was younger id be half assing stuff just to get it driveable.
Please tell me exactly where and how you think he can make $1500-$2000 parting out this car! i don't see it! but maybe you have a much better eye than i do! not ragging on your project, but you got alot of work ahead of yourself, you might want to consider trying to find another Sn95 with a blown efi engine, a better condition body, and a matching/clean interior, and swapping your good motor into the other car.... your gonna spend a fortune trying to bring this one back from the dead...

From what I saw the car

has no heat or a/c
a lot of missing wiring
needs new headlights and side markers
need bodywork and paint
need's a lot of interior work
and that's just what I quickly noticed but once all that is done you could have bought two of the same car in running condition...

Re: Project "Super5.0Snake"

Haha well considering that i have found all my EFI parts, All Harnesses, and what not for $350. A buddy of mine has all the panels and lights for $200.So thanks to the forums i have what i need to get back to a strong 5.0 for around $600.Body work is no biggie until winter when i can paint it.Yes i completely understand this will be a year or so project but it will be worth the wait. :tongue3:

Re: Project "Super5.0Snake"

Good luck, my quick engine freshen up turned into a nightmare, repainted all inside the engine bay, all new gaskets for the motor, ported stock heads and intake, went with a turbo kit, cam, tfs springs, arp studs, and car only ran for 5 minutes after 3yrs of my quick freshen up. LOL! Now I have to tear it back apart. It sucks cause my other GT is slow as hell! And I am anxious to drive my turbo vert.

Just don't get in a hurry to do it. It's your car and you spend what money you can on it without it getting you in the hole. Yeah it is a lot of work but you seem to have a straight head about it all and that is what counts the most. I'm sure you will having it looking and running good some day.

Good luck bro, it looks like your on your way to making it look great. the engine bay looks much better now that you painted it. I like the EFI Kenny Bell idea.

Two quick things. The airbags aren't blown which is a 250-300 sale on ebay with modules. It's a 5 speed which is another 4-500 sale for everything to convert an auto to manual (computer alone goes for 90ish). 80-100 sales would be drivers seat track, glass, doors, and trunklid. Cobra bumber would sell also. I've considered buying cars like this for just this reason but haven't been fotunate to come across one locally yet. Once you nickel and dime everything out its easily 1500+ before you ever make it to the scrap yard.
To the OP i was not in any way trying to rain on your parade. You sound like you have a plan and if you stick to it you'll be very proud of what you can accomplish.
