Hey guys my car has been giving me some problems that i already posted here, it has left me stranded 3 times now and i just dont like to drive it anymore incase it does it again, so what its doing is that when coming to a stop the engine will start to miss and will backfire if i try to give it gas, it loses all power and just dies on the spot, if i try to restart the engine starts but like if it was running on fumes and wont accelerate at all and will backfire if the gas pedal is pressed, last two times this happened i did not check for fuel preassure or anything but this time i did and there was fuel coming out of the little valve that on the fuelrail, this after i try restarting 5 times with no succes, so atleast my fuelpump is pumping fuel.

The other thing people told me to check is the Pip sensor wich i think is the reason for the problems, i checked for spark coming out of the module by using a screwdriver that i placed on the sparkplug boot and then close to a metal part and while cranking the spark was there. Im so frustrated with this because if i let the car cool down it will start and run fine for maybe a couple of weeks then it just does it again. Oh and just in case this all started happening after i eliminated my smog pump system, but i left all the vacuum lines connected.

Here are the codes i got.

KOEO: 564 , 212 , 113 , 556 .
KOER: 314 and 311 .
The balance test gave me 5, 6, and 8 so i think its 50 , 60 and 80 , cyl # 5 , 6 and 8 failed the test.

564 - Electro-Drive Fan circuit failure
212 - Loss of IDM (Ignition Diagnostic Monitor) input to EEC or SPOUT circuit grounded
113 - ACT Sensor Circuit Above Maximum Voltage of 4.6 volts (O), ACT circuit has intermittently failed above the maximum of 4.6 volts (M)
556 - Fuel Pump circuit failure

I eliminated my smog pump so maybe these codes have to do with that.
311 - Thermactor air system inoperative (right side)
314 - Thermactor air system inoperative (left side)

I ran without my smog pump for a few weeks and never got a code.
What have you replaced or tested and the results of said test.
When was the last time the car had a tune up? (plugs, cap, rotor, wires, fuel filter)

I havent done anything to the engine that would make it do this, Plugs cap and sparkplugs are brandnew, the sparkplugs are autolite 25s , however i have not replaced my fuelfilter since i got the car back in june. Im just a bit confused since the computer had no code stored for PIP sensor, but the codes that worry me are

212 - Loss of IDM (Ignition Diagnostic Monitor) input to EEC or SPOUT circuit grounded
113 - ACT Sensor Circuit Above Maximum Voltage of 4.6 volts (O), ACT circuit has intermittently failed above the maximum of 4.6 volts (M)
556 - Fuel Pump circuit failure

113 i can prolly fix, its maybe the sensor thats going bad and prolly needs changing, i did noticed that the connection was full of sludge so maybe cleaning that will fix it, now code 212 and 556 is were my problem could be, Fuel Pump circuit failure what is it exactly ? Is it like a relay not working properly or is the pump itself failing ? And code 212 i dont know what it is . If someone can help me with this please .

556- is probably due to the car stalling out
212- same as above.
plug wires?

When my dizzy went out, I never got a code for it. sometimes it does and sometimes it don't.

ya might clean the maf too when you replace the FP.

PIP failure may not show as a coded fault. However, code 212 my be from the PIP as that sensor feeds directly to the PCM and/or the ICM.

So today i decided to replace my PIP sensor just to be sure, its an original part so a new one should be fine, well for my first time taking a distributor out and putting it back in everything went fine, i took it out and took it to my friends shop were he removed the pins and the gear , well while everything was appart i was amazed how my car even ran cuz i found all the cables going to the PIP were stripped to the metal and basically touching eachother, put the new PIP in and dropped the distributor and at my first try the car started and i timed it.

Well so far so good , the car seems to run a bit better , now im just crossing my fingers and hope it does not leave me on the side of the road again.
