Hey guys, I got my gt40 heads, and got the passenger side head removed...cylinder walls and everything looked exceptionally well. We ran into a little problem on the driver side head though....looks like you got to pull the power steering pulley to get the last bolt off to be able to pull that head off....is there a way to do this without pulling the pulley with a puller?

I loaned the tool free from Autozone, i didn't have to take the pulley all the way off either just pulled it off enough to get to the bolt. Stupid design imo.

Is there a way to get the gt40 heads mixed up...what i mean i guess is there a left and right head, or does it matter? They look the same to me?

Make sure you put them back on based on what side thy were originally installed. Otherwise you might find yourself not able to bolt your accessories back on.

The heads are the same, left to right, but you should have a 5/8" to 7/16" reducer screwed into one of the threaded holes on the front of the heads. Just make sure they stay up front, otherwise you'll be pulling them off again.

I bought the gt40 heads used. I do not know what side goes on what, so I did not know if there was a way to tell or not

yeah one side of the head will have a plug in the EGR hole that the front bracket will bolt into, that has to go on the front obviously.

you might be, you should be able to unscrew them from your current heads and install them into the GT40s, they are just thermactor plugs (i think they're called) that screw in.

I actually noticed the other day that I guess one of the shops that worked on mine, had drilled a hole in one of the pulley spokes(for lack of a better term, the part going from the middle to the outside that blocks the bolt) to access that bolt. It is not a huge hole that looked to comprimise the pulley but just big enough that a rachet bit would fit through it. It upset me a little at first but like I said has not cause me problems since it was done and it seemed like it would make it easier for me later.
