I have stud mount Crane 1.7 roller rockers and I adjusted the push rods to zero lash. I used a half turn on the nut and the I tightened down the poly lock. There is very slight movement on the rockers, should there be any movement on rockers? Or no movement at all?

I'm not 100% sure but you could be experiencing slack due to the fact that the hydraulic lifters are not full of oil when the engine is off. Mine are pedestal mount but I had slack in mine too, except when I checked the pushrod length with a solid lifter. Did you adjust yours with a solid lifter?

I always did 1/4 turn... whatever your instructions say. And yes the lifter will collapse from being hydraulic so if there wasn't any slack THEN you should be worried.

No, I did not adjust mine with a solid lifter. In the pic, where my 2 fingers are at, there is little up and down movement. Both nuts are tight. Is it normal to have a little play?

Did you adjust them all one at a time after turning the engine to a specific location?

I'm betting you did it wrong.

Probably need longer pushrods, because with pedestal you use shims to tighten everything, stud mount need specifically measured pushrods.

You should either use a solid lifter or a mock-up solid lifter so the hydraulic lifter doesn't compress at all, that takes the guess work out of if it's compressing or not.

you sure you don't have that backwards? my pedestal mount rockers needed no shims, just the correct length pushrod.

Only need shims when you shave the heads i believe. The stud mounts can't adjust in a up and down movement so they rely on the pushrods to be snug in between the lifter and tip of the rocker.

You need the right leght pushrod on both rocker types. But he is right pedestal use shims but you can only use so many shims. Also you have to have the tip of the rocker on the valve stem on the right spot which still requires the right lenghtt pushrod. .
