Hey everyone. I just finished changing my oil in my stang and I noticed the left side of the rack where the boot that connects to the tie rod is pretty wet. Is that a sign that my rack is going bad? Its not bad where it leaks to the floor but its pretty wet. What does everyone think?? :dunno:

i think its from oil changes. periodically it will drip on there if you dont pull the oil filter off in a ziplock bag.

Every time I do an oil change, I put a rug where it would run down the rack and get oil everywhere. Plus, when the new fliter is installed, I clean everthing with brake clean. So I know for a fact it isnt oil. I know its fluid from the rack b/c only the boot is wet and the power steering fluid has a redish color to it.

Mine got like that towards the end, had 100k on the rack. Never caused a problem though, and never seemed to lose any fluid either.
