So now that I have your attention hehe :tongue3: here's what I'm doing

During the summer I run a auto detailing business with a friend of mine. Last year we stuck with private jobs but this year we're approaching dealerships. We want to put a package together with some info that will help persuade them to hire us, and a survey is one of those things, so please, take part in the poll!

ps - if anyone has better ideas for questions let me know. I quickly made these up.

I personally like to see shine on the inside and interior however under hood cleanliness makes me wonder.

A clean car inside and out makes me feel like they're not trying to hide anything, scratches, stains, etc.

Yeah I love seeing the cars at dealerships *blinging* or any car for sale. But very true under the hood cleanliness does make one wonder sometimes if they trying to hid an oil leak or what not. But still non the less Love a clean engine bay

I hate buying a dirty car. I've made the mistake of doing that twice. Once was when the dealership just opened and the car wasn't clean and once I bought my truck in the rain only to wash it a few days later and find all kinds of paint issues. A good cleaning shows the vehicles true state

To me, a clean car means it's just been taking care of. M grandpa taught me to keep a car clean. Don't know any other way.

+2

I detail some cars on the side. A few exotics for a Guy i used to work for. There is a big difference in how a car lot sees what a detail is vs a car owner. I would steer clear of small used lots.

Car lots just want it to look good a first glance to reel in a buyer then as the buyer looks at the car the salesman will keep talking to distract them from seeing any flaws. So the customer only really see what attracted them to the vehicle in the first place.

I tried working for a small lot not to long ago. taking some of the nastiest cars and making them look new. But still knowing the car was a POS. My conscious just wouldnt let me work for the 2 bit crooks anymore.

Also makes a TON of difference on trade in! My wife & I detail every nook & cranny even the engine bay...my F150 sold to a customer before I finished doing the paper work on the new one! I negotiated another $250 off just because of it.

I would say that a nice shinny car would get my attention much like a pretty girl would draw my gaze. But for me, a detailed engine compartment and brand new tires on a used car would make me very suspicious. Then its all about the puddles under the car and the test drive.

stay away form the small car lots. A small inventory means they probably dont do alot of business and you will be chasing your money. Good luck

I've never seen a dealership that didn't doll up it's cars before putting them on the lot :dontknow: Of course a clean car makes a difference, no brainer.
