Mikey94gt...

You're the first one I have ever heard say the AEM pcm is a pos. The AEM pcm is just like DFI..but better.

My buddy Dennis runs the AEM pcm with his YSi blown 331 and absolutely loves it.. He also has had the 1st and 2nd generation PMS.

Why on earth would you go through 3 different AEM kits??

The first two wouldnt connect with the computer, and the third fried the motherboard halfway through the dyno. I sent the third back to Jegs, after having the first two sent to AEM for warranty, and told Jegs about it. they refunded me, and I went with AFM after that.

when i first got my TFS stage 1 it surged like a mother f***. I changed a few things up and no surging, idle is as solid as rock at 700 :D

The things i changed were:
1) Got rid of BBK fenderwall CAI and added C&L inlet pipe with large filter
2) Got rid of my POS BBK throttle body and added 70mm frpp unit
3) Bumped the timing to 16 degrees and set idle at 700

Runs like a champ now :D no tune no bucking no surging

anytime you run a large cam, bumping the timing at idle is a good idea, as it lends stability to the engine. there are less ignition events at 700RPM, and efi systems have a hard time idling. I found the Trick FLow kits like to idle with 14.5 AFR and about 35* of timing, may have to mess around with idle speed to get the car to stop surging, usually about 700-990, the higher end with an aluminum flywheel.

I gotta get rid of the BBK throttle body too, I was looking at Accufab.

I got rid of my BBK fenderwell CAI, and replaced it with a 4" piece of PVC piping that puts the filter in the fender, and I moved my MAF to the top of the tube, between the TB and the tube. much better.

I also messed around with the tune quite a bit, and now it idles pretty good, unless its cold. then it idles funny and stalls.

Thats interesting you say that since I have the same cam. I have bbk fenderwell and bbk throttlebody. I had a professional products one on there and it was such poorly made that I got the bbk one. The bbk one looks to be made good though. I also have pro-m mass air, its tuned for cold air and the tuner said its operating perfectly fine. Are there any other brands besides bbk that make a 75mm throttle body?

I like my Pro Products TB cause you can adjust the Throttle position sensor. They arent to bad..I would buy their intake but the TB's arent to bad.

reset your computer and do the proper base idle and TPS reset proceedures. I had a surge issue after mu tune, which I had alleviated with raising the idle.

once I set my tps and base idle properly. my car ran smooth as silk

Heres my experience with my professional products throttle body. Maybe I just was unlucky but here it is. I took the car to the tuner. He was checking the tps voltage and touched the IAC and it moved. He then went to tighten the bolts on the IAC but they wouldn't tighten anymore. The damn iac bolts were not tapped far enough into the throttle body so there was a gap causing a nice intake leak. Then he put noticed when he put the throttle body up to the light the butterfly was not even accross, some of the blade was showing light there it while the other side wasn't. Like it was tweaked or something, but I got it brand new so I know no one broke it.

Heres a little update. I took just the chip to the tuner and he did something to it that he said should fix my surging. While the past 2 morning I started it it surged but not as bad as it did without a tune. He told me if I am having issues then I can take the car back to him when the tuner "Jerry" comes to town and he will have him look at it. I asked him if he thought my car had any other issues than the tune and he said no.

I had to modify my tps sensor to make it adjustable, but the AFM PMS lets you set the voltage in the computer.
