quick guage question

i bought a an a/f guage and an oil pressure guage from a wrecked 98 cobra. i installed the a/f just fine, however i kno i need a sender for the oil press. is that all i need and can i just order a replacement sender from autometer or sumit. will i need anything else to do the oil press. install? all the colored wires are there.

I'm guessing the oil pressure gauge is electric? If so, you will just need a sending unit for it, which usually runs about $25 for the oil side. Not sure, but it might work off the stock sending unit, but not 100% positive.

did you get a wide band and all that for the A/F guage? If not then all you have is a pretty light show lol.

when i get home from school i will explain the oil pressur thing. The stock unit will not work. I just dont have the patients to type alot onmy iPod, the keyboard is a little small, plus im in class suppost to be payong attention. Lol

LOL no a buddy of mine didn't want the guages b/c he thought they looked too flashy and you really don't need them if you have a tuner, so he gave the both guages plus a pod holder for 10 bucks.

You need one of these, and a fitting. Its 1/4 inch 90 degree bend. that way you can keep the stock one running while running the auto meter.

This is where you plug in the end of the 90 degree fitting to the engine.

See the allen head fitting, un screw that. and put the fiting in there

then just screw in the sendign unit, and wire it up!

thanks from what i understand the 1/4" fitting comes w/ the sending unit..

but not the 90 degree fitting

you need that to use the other place down on the same piece the stock one goes on to. Its a 90 degree female that goes to male brass fitting. ACE hardware has it!

wow thats really nice, i want one now :) , he what does these fitting hook to? I've never seen anyone put guages in so i'm clueless on that. Also, how would we go about a fuel pressure gauge? water temp gauges? thanks guys for helping a guage noob :dancing6:

eul pressure gbhas a sending unit on the fuel rail and he u just wire that up. And my water temp just needs the sending unit to work everything else is swt up for it, the mail is fricken slow
