Hey guys, quick question. Friend of mine blew up his 98 3.8L. And wants to swap to 5.0. Question is, is the k-member the same for the 94-95 5.0 and the 96-98 3.8L Or would he be better off using a 4.6L? He wants to use the motor out of a 93 thunderbird lx. Motor looks exactly the same intake elbow and everything. Only difference i see is that the motor has a fan clutch instead. Any insight would be great. Thanks!

Thing is, much cheaper to buy a 5.0 than to do the swap. You'll need a donor car for the needed extra parts.

It is easier to do the swap in a 94-95 v6 car than it is in a 96-98 car, using 94-95 computer and harness etc.

The 96-98 had some differences in the electrical aspects, and would require some wiring re-pinning under the dash.

Like I mentioned in my post above, have a look at the forums on www.sorscode.comhttp://, to get an idea of what you might be getting into.
