bump/update
after a very frustrating research session, found that the 2 racks in question are identical in every way except 2
1. turn lock to lock: 96 is 2.4 turn and the 99 is 2.5 turns, not realy an issue.
2. 96 rack length 48.25". 99 rack length 48.5".

question: is this .25" difference between the mounting holes, or the driver side hole and steering shaft location, or is it on the ends of the rack? obviously i can adjust for 1/4in with the tierod ends. i cannot however cut the rack or change mounting holes on the k member.

anyinput would greatly help, moving long distance on sunday and rack is pouring fluid, cant realy afford a new one right now
TIA.

The difference is not going to be at the mounting holes.

The K members from 94-04 all accept the same steering racks.

I don't see why it would be different. The shells from 94-04 are basically the same cutout.

thats true....even if they were a little differnt i dont think it would be enough to cause too much problem in making it work out
