Will it be fairly easy to replace my Rack & Pinion bushings on the 98 ? I'm going to try and to this with the help of a friend. It seems like a straight foward process. :dunno: anyone done these their self.
stangracing98: Do you mean the rubber bushings that isolate the rack from the k-member? If so, the job is not tough at all. There are metal sleeves in the center of the bushings that may be stuck but a little twisting using a crescent wrench will help to ease them out. You can use a little Vaseline to get the new bushings to slide in place. The Haynes manual has the torque spec (iirc), the nuts don't have to be "cranked" down. HTH, Chris
yeah, that's what I mean. Thanks for the reply, that really helped me out. I'm going to try and do these Bushings soon along with wheel bearings and sub frame connectors. Thanks
