Radiator suggestions?

Curious what kind of aftermarket rad's everyone is running. Had some temp spikes in hotlapping yesterday, and I'm pretty sure my rad is partially blocked or something after seeing all the corrosion in my heater core lines when I took them off. I'd probably be fine with just replacing it with a stock one, but I wouldn't mind paying a bit more for something a bit better if anyone's got a good word for another. Thanks guys!

Havn't seen the greatest things about the Mishimoto's, thinking about an SVE one.

Mishimoto prolly makes it, lol. Looks like a good deal, not sure why Mishimotos have a bad rap, but I got a ultra cheap ebay one suposedly made by Mishimoto. IIRC mine was a ZAP, it's been doing great so far.

My car would overheat after the 1st 10 minutes with the stocker. I let it go, pressure built up, blew the top hose off the intake, and fried my motor. Bigger IS better!

Last spring i looked at this too because i had a hole in mine and needed it to be replaced. A friend of mine went through 4 after market radiators because of leaks before he went back to a stock one. So i just bought a stock one at my auto parts store and when i was taking my old one out there was a lot of lint between the radiator and the compressor radiator and now it never has gone over 1/2 way on the gauge in the car all last summer, even during my runs at the Auto X.

Maybe you have a lot of lint in there?

Yeah, it got hot enough where my overflow was overflowing when I released pressure, so it was definitely getting a bit warm. For the price of a mishimoto, I wouldn't try it. For the price of the SVE one I think I will Lifetime warranty, so who cares I suppose.

I'll definitely check, gives me even more reason to get off my ass and yank out my A/C and smog pump anyways since they're just sitting there. If not, pretty sure it's pretty gummed up. Another stock one would probably be alright, but I'd like to go bigger for long term usage anyways. Stock is pretty appealing though since I can get one through work for like $50.... backup? Haha.

I've ran my car at a few track days at WOT everywhere with no overheating issues. I'd bet that your problem is with drifting you're at relatively low speeds and you're not getting enough airflow. I know that whenever i've gone drifting in wet parking lots my car gets real hot. Might not hurt to look into a bigger fan. Granted, a Mishimoto will do the job splendidly as long as it doesn't break. I previously had one and it would keep the car freaking cold, but it cracked like all the others after some time. I think Mishi's improved their mounts though, so it might currently be a good choice.

Edit: I'm running a stock radiator currently with no issues. 150k+ on my car, assuming stock WP.

That too, but other people don't seem to really have much of a problem with heat. I was going to see how the fan does with a new rad, then go from there. SVE makes an aluminum shroud and bigger fan, if I had the money I wouldn't mind getting that too. Yay being broke.

I'm running a spectra premium radiator that I picked up through autozone once mine gave out.

Got a nice warranty on it and i've never had a problem with it.
