ram hd clutch break in

Paperwork says 500-1000, does this mean no down shiftin and trans braking? 3000 rpms a top end mark? i understand no ridin the clutch, but can I do all this on freeway or does it need to be street too? first dd clutch car so I am a lil lost Thanks guys I appreciate it

they mean 500-1000 of city driving, highway driving does not break in a clutch. I don't think downshifting it will cause any problems, and in the case of mine they said the break in period was shorter if you're making under a certain amount of power. 1000 miles for break in seems wayyyy high.

CAI is all i got so far and this is the hardest thing ive ever done. my dad gave me his lead foot.

I have a HD 900 in my stroker car and I gave it about 250 miles to break in and then I started messing around with it on the street and after about a 500 miles I took it to the track.
That is a GREAT clutch if its set up right. Just ride it a little to put some heat in it while you're in the lanes, do your burnout ride it a little more as you come out of the burnout and then its ready.

My buddy got a SPEC for his souped up LT1. Was trying to wait until 500 but started giving it hell at 300. No problems in 10k miles.

im half way done with the break in, i decided that 500 should be enough, and man last night i was so tempted to roast the tires so i got onto it a little bit and wow this clutch held its own
