yes the cable will have a fat end on it that hooks onto the bracket on the caliper. get a pair of plyers and pull it. With your ebrake not on. I would lude up even the new ones just to make sure it wont happen again. Go ahead and lube your front ones to, before you fuck them up seeing as i doubt you even did that. Its just brake parts lube you can get it at any auto parts store. :tard:

LOL! You guys really like riding him don't ya. :laughing4:

He brought it on himself. Trust me.

I'd put up $5 that he never had any problems with his brakes, and made all this stuff up. His car sure seems to have a lot of problems for being stock.

I was going to say he is such a racing god and knows everything about parts. I did my brakes when I was 16. Id think someone who can install suspension and do a cobra brake swap could do this. Unless someone was paid to do the others for him.

Just get a pair of chanel-locks Handz and pull it towards the back of the car, then pull it in towards the center to get out of the area that holds it...dont mess with the spring...I've already made the mistake of taking it out, not fun.

Just use grease man, I've always used it and never had problems with seizing.

so the way i got the cable off the old calipers was to undo a 10mm bolt that held the spring to the caliper and that released the tension from the spring and i removed the spring. I didnt care about removed the spring because i have 2 re-man'd calipers.

I painted the calipers black yesterday according to dalamar's writeup. Clean coat makes it look nice.

I decided just to get some new rotors while i am at this so i can just service the entire brakes at the same time. Gotta go pick them up.

....also got some Porterfield R4-S pads to match the front and back.

I dont think you have to compress those springs...lol

I did the same thing you did at first...then realized that the brake line would just pull off.

Should be smooth sailing on the way back on

You should do a tech article on both the rear calipers and rack install. Don't forget the before, during, and after, with lots of how-to instructions.

Seems like that depends upon how tight your e-brake cable is adjusted, doesn't it?

I think your right GT...when I did it the first time I dont believe I took out the ebrake cable. I just remember it being a royal PITMFA to get the spring back in...
