i ordered some LED wedge bulbs for the gauge cluster, last night i pulled it out, changed the bulbs, pulled the faces off and sanded the green paint from behind them, and heres the finished product.

the one thing i dont like is how some spots are brighter then others, but still looks awesome!! tell me what you guys think

sorry for the crappy/blurry pic, but you guys get the idea

the difference in brightness is just the downside of the leds. They are bright when focused, but then they are narrow.

That is alot of red.....

the car wasnt running in that picture but my Rpms are off by a few grand, the gauge idles at about 3500 LOL and my speedo never really worked right in the first place, its not moving at all. i filled up my gas tank, and the gauge reads what would be the equiv. of a half tank, PAST the full mark.

i always manage to screw something up no matter how big or small the project. hah

oh, the motor is off, much better then.....

I have heard too many horror stories of people not getting them on correctly for me to ever consider it.

Lokks great bro! now you need to do it to the AC controls.

i just did them, but im not sure how they are going to look at night. the light doesnt seem to pass through as well. we'll see what happens and what else i can do when the sun goes down so i can actually see them working

I wonder if some type of wax paper etc could be installed to diffuse the light and make the hot spots more even.

thats a good idea bob, ill experiment with that later

also, i forgot to add that i scraped off the turn signals green paint, but instead of being red, they are orange. it looks pretty sweet im glad it came out orange instead of red. ill get a pic of that later too

well i was wrong about the rpm gauge it shows around 2500 at idle.

i saw a write up a while ago on how to recalibrate them, but when i looked for it again i found out it was for 99+ models.

anyone know a write up i could use?

looked in the haynes manual, came up with nothing, unless i missed it

I seen a write-up a while back when I had to change my Odometer gear...they used like a reflective film, almost like aluminum foil to shine all the light outwards and the same amount, if I find it Ill post it...should be on this site somewhere

ill try wax paper tonight if that doesnt work ill find some of the "reflective film"

i went outside to see how the lights look at night. on the climate controls, the light barely passes through. im going to have to dissassemble it and see what i can do.

i still like the way the gauge cluster looks, besides the fact im yet to fix the patchyness. i dont mind the massive amounts of red, red being my favorite color, and also my underhood theme(black and red) hell i think anything is better than green. the red pops out more and make the numbers look bolder

WHAT i did along time ago was go to autozone or your local parts store and buy that light that looks like a string wrap it around all of your gauge areas and hot glue takes care of the blotches and looks very sweeeeet did it on a fox thow so i think it would look awesome on a 94-04
