refresh the old 4.6 block??

im about to get some non pi ported heads from modular headshop (stage 2), and a turbo kit, my car has 158k i think the first thing to go is going to be my main bearings do you think i could just replace them and be good for another 30k or something?? any suggestions besides a new block lol dont have the 2k for a forged short block

if you dont have the money for a forged shortblock, just run the stock engine as-is and keep the boost somewhat low, and youshould be ok

bearings shouldnt be bad unless you have ran the engine without oil for some distance and several times. if not...then you should be ok.

you must be a pushrod guy too...

i'm over 200k and pushing 11-12psi non-intercooled daily. these motors stay tight forever. its RPM that kills them not mileage.

Yeah the first time I tore down a high mile modular I was impressed with how nice it was inside. These engines age gracefully!
