I want to remove my stock GT hood and install the stock Cobra I bought. Pic one is on the Cobra hood, I see the cable and the setup at the end to where it must have been attached to the car. Second pic is of my current hood. The cable is covered with tape and looks like it's attached to another cable.

First question: What is this cable and what does it do?

Second question: For my current hood, should I unwrap the tape and try to see where the cable is attached?

Duh - I found on the LEFT side of the current hood the cable that is shown on the Cobra. The taped cable on the RIGHT side of the hood leads to this:

So, what does this do and do I pull it out to disconnect it?

Another question, I removed the light socket from the hood area - can I just cut the wires off down at the bottom where they are connected to the other set?
