Reprogramming

Now that I have the 5-speed in the car, I need to get the computer re-flashed so that it no longer thinks it has an automatic. The dealer wants $90 to do this, I was just curious if any of the aftermarket "programmer" tools out there have the capability to do this themselves? If so, I'd rather spend a bit more and buy one of those. Be handy for other things as well.

Also, does the same computer programmer that sets up for the PATS keys and keyless entry also do the programming for what transmission a car has? If so, I may know someone who could do it for me a lot cheaper than the dealer.

Besides. I really don't like giving a dealership money if I don't have to.

an aftermarket handheld tuner (SCT x-cal) can switch from auto to manual and delete PATS.

both of those features must be put into the device by a tuning shop (VMP Tuning can do it)
