This is part of the reason why I like traffic light cameras. Most people hate them, but a lot of accidents tend to happen at intersections. Having cameras up would make incidents like this much more "cut and dry" vs all of the he said / she said.
But anyway... I really hope the insurance comes through on this. If they total out your car (which they will) you should look into buying it back for salvage value. There's still a lot of useful pieces on there you can take off and use/sell.
Hoping for the best. You're a great guy... everything will work out in the end. Hang in there.
There are cameras at this intersection, but only a stream unfortunately. They aren't allowed to record yet because the supreme court hasn't ruled on it yet. I already asked
I would have no problem admitting fault. When I ruin stuff, I'm the first to say "yea, that was me" but I just don't believe that light was red. I was in the lane and it was green. There's 7 seconds from the time the light turns yellow to the time the other direction gets green. Even if on some chance I did run it, I would have been almost all the way out of the intersection by the time her light turned green.
There's a reason I towed the car home though. My last truck, the motor blew, I rebuilt a new one, put it on the road, and some kid totaled it the night I got it back on the road. Generally buy back is 10% so we will see what happens there.
Wow, That is an absolutely hard hit, I had this happen with my laser v6, Women that did not even witness the accident stopped and then proceeded telling the cops it was my fault when I was on a four lane road and T boned the dude because he came straight out of an side road.. Right... The cops threatened to arrest her after finding out she did not even witness the accident. Glad everyone is safe and sound, Car is so clean. Really a shame.
She had "witnesses" show up about 20 minutes after the accident. The guy goes "well, everyone over there (her side) stories match up."
All I can think is "well yea, it's easy to solidify a lie when it takes two hours for the highway patrol to show up"
