put the cobra on a dynojet at Brother's Performance yesterday and it didnt turn out so well...

kinda expected it a bit though

both power and torque completely fall off, needs a new tune and the IMRC's need to go

but i may have a hook up for a Kenne Bell for super duper duper cheap, so i may hold off on a tune until that is on to save money on not needing to buy two dyno tunes

Uhhhh I wouldnt be worried about a KB just yet? I'd be trying to figure out why my 4v is only making 208 hp.

if a tune fixes it (which it should) then waiting to get the KB would kill two birds with one stone.

so i wouldnt buy a $500 dyno tune just to go back a couple months later and get another for a KB

i still need to look into exactly what is wrong with it, but if it is what i think is wrong, than thats the plan i wanna go with

Hmmm ok but im not sure if you said its been tuned before, but if its just stock with exhaust theres no good reason it should be losing that power unless something is wayyy wrong.

it would be the IMRC's being stuck or something else in the system for the IMRC's

and thats just an estimated guess from looking at the information i have now. i still need to check other things to make sure this is the problem. im not 100% certain its the IMRC's but it's the most likely problem, and the most common problem.

My old 96 with a cai, off road x pipe and flows made 270 at the tire.

208 is very weak. Id check everything before a kb. Ive never seen a 4v dyno so low ever unless the ebrake was on.

Yea my 98 made 264 to the wheels with only LT's....oh and off road x pipe, and magnaflows...

Thats definitely a head scratcher.... :dontknow:

i didnt know i gave the impression that i was just gonna slap a KB on it and hope the problem goes away...

im going to find the problem, fix it, then see if i can get the KB put on.

if the problem IS my IMRC's then i can live with the IMRC's closed until the KB goes on

My V6 3800 PUSHROD grand prix FWD makes more POWA than a 4V. According to this thread. Lol :dontknow:

that sucks man. :BangHead: I thought the IMRC's opened sooner than that so you would see it start to drop off sooner. maybe? also could it be fuel pressure or timing related? how did it sound during the run did you hear it flatten out or break up? if they would have recorded your a/f during the run that would have been a good sign on where the problem is coming from. just some suggestions hope it helps
