Is it possible to make your tails nice and smooth again, I bought some off ebay, and they have scratches in the red plastic that I'm concerned about

you could use a scuff pad to smooth them out, its kinda like a really light sanding, and have a painter black them out for you.

i mention this alternative because i doubt you can get the scratches off, and have them nice clean and red again. but idk maybe someone knows a way or something you can use to do it.

you should be able to find a scuff pad at an auto parts store with a paint section, it looks like a sponge, and yes wet sanding with a really fine grid will smooth it out, but its going to leave it dull.

go to autozone. they sell a plastic polish, its in a small white bottle w/ a blue label. works great to fix scratched CD's gauge cluster lenses, yellow head lights and probably the problem you have.

if that fails polish them out w/ mothers wheel polish. there's a slight possibility you might have to sand them w/ 2000 grit paper 1st. you'll be very happy w/ the results.

How deep are the scratches?

Try like 1000 grit, 1500, then 2000, plastic polish

If theyre anything more than minor scratches I doubt they will come out

Oh, than you should be good....try some 1000 grit, wetsanding and go until its smooth...go over with 1500 and 2000 before you polish.

It should come out looking good after the polish

Keep them wet through all the sanding.
