SCT after motor swap

so i just dropped an 01 PI motor in i still have my sct .....wanted to tune it ...not sure how it will work though

should i just call bama and get a custom tune?

if it's an xcal2 or xf3 it will work well for you. I personally wouldn't spend money on a tune untill most or all the engine modding is done.

I tried to cheap out and get a mail order tune from bama. The car ran enough to get it to the dyno but it was running rich as all hell and barely driveable. Learned that lesson really well since after it was all said and done it cost a $100 more then if I got the chip at the tuners...

can tunes are meant to limp to a tuner as scott said. if you have a wideband, you may be able to get away close to run what they sent you.

I already have a sct live wire .....


I have the BS tunes and have lifetime tunes from bama but not done modding but its not highly modded in the first place

yea I got the lifetime tunes from bama as well but I am never going to use it. There are just too many variables in a motor that can cause slight variatoins that effect what is going on and you need the car/motor infront of you and a dyno to find these.

My tuner only charged me $250 for the tune because I had the chip already and said I get a return discount when I come back for further mods later on. The mail order thing is neat and all but it will never be as accurate as the dyno tune.
