I just finally cured my extremly high idle problem I purchased a IAC from AutoZone and when they pulled it out of the box I thought it looked odd but just figured that maybe the part had been updated because the mounting holes were Identical after about a month of troubleshooting this thing it ended up being a IAC for the earlier Fox Bodies I cleaned my factory original with brake cleaner and some carb spray then Air dryed and bolted it on and it cured my problem, the IAC ended up that it just happened to be in the wrong box thanks AutoZone for almost permently melting my engine down!!

Now another problem has surfaced while cruising it seem to just be dropping spark to all the cylinders and then it imediatley comes back and does this randomly and different speeds and different RPM's

Im pulling my hair out on this one. Any Ideas??

I have recently replaced my TPS (autozone) and my Distributor (Oreilly's) Timing is at 10 degrees

Any Help is appreciated

211 - Two or more successive erratic Profile Ignition Pickup (PIP) pulses occurred, resulting in a possible engine miss or stall
212 - Loss of IDM (Ignition Diagnostic Monitor) input to EEC or SPOUT circuit grounded

Im getting these codes from the DLC has anybody had experience with these so might know where to start

Sounds like your dizzy is bad again.
I have gotten bad remanned dizzys before.
You might replace the coil too If it's still the origional while your at it. They are fairly cheap.
Do you have any mods that we might need to know too?

I suspect it's the PIP in the reman dizzy you bought. There may be a lifetime warranty for that part. I would check with O'Reilly's.

Well I got a New Richporter distributor installed and New MSD street fire plug wires also a new Beldin coil from NAPA Timing set at 10 with spout connector out still does the same thing its like it is dropping spark to all the cylinders at once and the RPM guage goes wacko and then a split second later its back to normal and then it could be a few mins and then it does it again.

I dont know what else to do with this thing its a 1995 GT 5.0L 5spd Trickflow Intake, AFR heads & has been dyno tuned by Bottle Blown Racing

Long story short after getting it dyno tuned a few months after I checked my timing with the spout out and it was like the timing was 20 degrees retarted I know sounds crazy so I left it cause car ran great then a few months went by and I had a no start condition diagnosied it a bad distributor replaced distributor and set the timing at 10 just like ALL DATA and MITCHELL reccomend and I have had one problem after another since then

Any help or suggestions is appreciated

how old is the harmonic balancer?
They've been known to slip, thus giving you a error in the timing reading..
You might call the tuner and ask why it was set to20*

I would still bet on the dizzy. I had this experience myself. Got a re-manufactured distributor from AutoZone. Put it in, car ran ok for about a week and then gave me the same problem. I could NOT BELIEVE it was a bad distributor again. I spent the next 3 weeks trying everything and spending a ton of money (new coil, wires, cap, rotor, HB, cel, etc) until I just broke down and replaced the dizzy again as a last resort before I just set the whole damned thing on fire. Advanced Auto Parts gives you a free lifetime warranty on the distributor (Dizzy costed about $120.00 after tax). If it ever fails they replace it free, no questions asked. They told me I don't even need the receipt.

It WAS the distributor. I got a bad one from AutoZone.

I had the same thing. Car died while driving then started up 20 minutes later, then started missing randomly and died again and would not start again. Picked up a remand distributor, same problem. Replaced everything electrical in my engine and found myself back at the distributor. In disbelief I went and traded it for a different one on an off chance. Car started right up after putting the new one in. I don't know what I would have done if I had gotten two in a row bad, probably would have pulled my hair out and sold the thing.

Well Sounds like it's a common problem to get bad electrical parts from AutoZone I think I will steer clear next time a need a electrical part Lol!

I like the Beldin brand from Napa have always had the best luck with that stuff

I finally diagnosed the problem it is in my Idle Air Control Motor it is suddenly opening all the way and letting max air to the engine and that is making it feel like it is droping spark to all the cylinders at once I have replaced my IAC with a New one from Orielly's

Has anybody adjusted there Idle air bleed screw on the Throttle body I cant seem to get it right I set the throttle plate with a .010" feeler guage and 1 full turn and locked it in place and I know have my idle air bleed screw open 2 1/4 turns and it seems like I get the best drivablity at this point but It will not idle for an extended amount of time seems like after about 30 seconds to a Miinute it stalls but starts right back up and every now and again the IAC will just slam open during cruise making it feel like it is dropping spark to all the cylinders at once WIERD! Any Thoughts greatly appreciated
