hey guys, haven't really posted to much, been researching a lot. I recently just put a new transmission in and a new clutch.
i want a little more power now, my goal is AT LEAST 300whp. i am on a budget so i will most likely be going with the GT40 upper and lower intake, and GT40 heads unless someone can tell me a better combo. my question is will these parts bolt right on, or will some other modifications be needed?
other than those parts what else will I need to reach my goal?
right now my motor is completely stock.

thanks.

First off do a Tune up..... All your mait items

Fuel Filter
Air filter
Dist Cap
Dist Rotor
Plugs
Wires
Check timing
check your HB
Do all the small stuff like that now before you start spending money on mods. Once you get it running good then you can start hunting for a set of GT40 heads, upper and lower the 19lb inj will be fine with them, Grab a Felpro Gaket kit. If you can swing it get yourself a set of shorty's and a Midpipe with High flow cats or a O/R pipe, and so on.

ask any other Questions you might have.

I planned on the tune up first, also wanted to bump the timing and get the AM 5.0 CAI.
what does HB stand for?
also, what headers would be best for the money? and when i start my search for the gt40 parts will i need any other parts for install or is it a perfect fit? will upgrading to 24lb injectors help me out any even if the 19lb will be okay?

harmonic balancer. if you look around you can find a 94/95 cobra intake would be the best direct replacement. save a lil more and you could find a good deal on used allum heads.

well just to let you know any CAI will be the same heck you can get a Ebay CAI.

HB= Harmonic balancer

Check to make sure the rubber isn't squeezed out of it. I'll find a pic of my old one and show you what i mean.

With just gt40's you shouldn't max out the 19# injectors.

If your going to spend money on headers, you can go with LT's or Shorty's. just hunt the classifieds on here and other sites and you'll find a nice set to go with.

GT40's are pretty much a bolt on affair. of course you will always want to check PTV clearance if you plan on changing the cam. You can never be too safe.

If your buying Used heads try to get a machine shop to look over them before you buy them You would rather be out a little money then a lot with a set of heads that can only be used as paperweights.

Agreed or the GT40 they flow pretty close to the same. I myself am just going to pick up a set of E-Street Eddy heads that are assembled to make sure i don't run into any problems.

I probably wont go with the cobra because they hard to find and when they do come up they are a little pricey. how much of a difference would the aluminum heads vs gt40 be

Its not going to be easy to get 300 RWHP on a really strict Budget. IMO Trickflow or AFR heads would be better. Are you just looking for a HP # or are you looking to run a certain number at the track? After a Tune, my HCI with Long Tubes, CAI, full exhaust etc made 300 RWHP and 310 TQ. I have Trick Flow heads, TFS1 Cam, Cobra Intake.

I haven't taken my car to the track yet, I wanted to get a little more power before I went. but I guess i'm kind of looking for both. I want a higher HP number, also a low track time. I would like to get some parts like trick flow but Its kinda expensive for me, which is why I was looking for gt40 parts. I could get the heads for around $250 and intake for about $100.
I would like to get a CAI and headers first before those parts.
will parts off the 5.0 foxbodys fit my 95? like headers? theres a few people parting them out local, and was thinking about tryin to grab some parts.

Most fox shorty headers fit but you have to deal with the EGR. You'll either have to weld a new EGR tube or block it off
