yup, my car died on me driving down the road.. no warnings, symptoms, or problems prior. i was just driving down the road, going 40-45, shifted into 4th gear and my car died.. coasted a good 1/4 mile and barely managed to pull off the road into a side street.

the problem is the PATS system, i lost my original car keys about 3 weeks ago, had 2 remade and reprogrammed.. i am basically 100% positive the new keys are crap and my car doesn't recognize them anymore after 3 freaking weeks.... gay

Is your theft light blinking?

My car had a broken ignition lock so I would be able to start it and take the key out...

Sure enough it would run for a little while and then turn itself off... So it might be those keys you had made...

That is what I thought as well. It's Anti-Theft, not Already-Thieved. Regardless, I hope it's something simple and she's back in no time.

Well I just got up to my shop and loaded a NO PATS tune on and it. Still won't start. HPP said PATS wouldn't just shut the car off either but they tried it. They are going to run some diagnostics on the car today and let me know. They said it could be my computer fried. But they are going to check it all out today, so hopefully I'll know by tonight...

My car has been flawless for a year now, why are things just starting to stack up now?? Ughhhh.

sucks to hear man. i like PATS, but its a pain sometimes. changed the heatercore on my car last weekend and when i went to turn her on, it kept telling me i was trying to steal it. tried both keys and got nothing. waited a few minutes and tried again, and she turned on.

my 98gt had something similar happen to it. when i tried starting it the theft light flashed and wouldnt start. wasnt the keys nor PATS. it was the ccrm thingy in the front right fender well. apparently it has four functions and if one part fails the whole car fails. took the dealership 3 days to diagnose and they went through boxes of fuses.

ummm okay, super embarrassing.. long story short, i ran out of gas...

my gauge stopped working at like 1/8 of a tank I guess because it said that was how much was left.. but i had nothing in it.. so basically, it cost me 130 dollars for a tank of gas after they spent an hour diagnosing the problem. you live and you learn i guess.. i guess i will never be running my car that low again, even though it said i still had an 1/8 of a tank and i have run it lower then that before..

LOL..been there. I used to own a 97 Gt that the previous owner installed white faced gauges on. Long story short, the car died the day after i bought it. gauge said i still had about 1/3 of a tank.

LMFAO wow. The same thing happen to me before, but i was in some beat up car. I called a family member and she used her bumper and bumped me all the way home (we passed 3 gas stations). The car set for about 2 weeks till i decided to pour some gas in the tank and it fired right up. The gas hand in this car was incorrect also.
