I have a 96 gt stocks trans with 58k original miles and noticed here that sometimes when I down shift into 4th it grinds alittle and its been kicking out of gear in 2nd after it runs awhile. I think in needs a new clutch cable because the clutch dosent feel right to me. What do u guys think it can be and what should I try first?

If its a stock clutch cable, put your foot under the clutch pedal while car is off and pull upwards. Engage the clutch again while driving a mile or two and then do it again. This is Fords official recommendation to self adjust. Could be an issue of a throw out bearing wearing but I'm not sure.

I tryed the clutch pull and seemed make it feel better. Is there a chance I might be grinding 4th because the bushing in to shifter are bad?
