Hi guys . Since that I have my GT (since 1995) I always thought that stock rear bumper stick out way to far . It's like , I don't know , japanese cars or something ... I never liked of aftermarkets rear bumpers either... I mean , I prefer the stock one but somehow I wish it were shorter (not completly flat with tailights) .

If you notice , old muscle cars (and now moderns too) have a short bumper (see pics below) . Our cars have a short tail
but the bumper is too long in my opinion , hurting muscular looks.

Sometimes I think in make a fiberglass short bumper based on stock one . I don't have photoshop but I made some modifications with crap image software . Oh , and I notice that the "japanese effect" is more intense when looking live at the car from a stand up point of view . The majority of pics has a low point of view of the car , What tends to soften the bumper looks .

What do you guys think about that?

Note : I pick these pics from web. If your car are here and you want that I remove , please send a PM. I'm searching for pics of my car but I don't have one in a position that shows the rear bumper .

Removing the foam bumper can provide space for a short bumper cover :

IMO i actually really like the stock rear bumper... I don't think it would look good at all with a short bumper. I think it is also irrelevant to compare the sn95 with an older muscle car, they are completely different body styles. I also think that removing the foam in the bumper wouldn't be a good idea, not sure how effective foam in the bumper is for safety but i think its there for a reason.

However, do what you want! Don't listen to me if that's what you want to do! I'd be interested in the project and how it turns out!

I kinda like it, it reminds me of the 80s E30 BMWs and how they made the bumpers shorter in the later model ones

where did you get the pics of my car? I have posted them on a couple forums like this. But this is the first time someone else has posted pics of it. Kinda creepy and cool at the same time.
On topic: I feel the bumper is fine too. Maybe it's because we are all just used to seeing it.

Ehh. If you want old car looks just buy a old car. I love 60s ane 70s cars but to bring that look if you will to a snive it won't look right.

Thank you for your comments guys .

It's just a thought . Maybe someday I will do something like that.

The Dalamar bumper is nice but it hide a little the tailpipes .

I don't want make my car old . It's just a touch ... Like the rear deep dish wheels , Cobra bumper , Etc.

I would like very much to buy a old mustang or other muscle car but here they are very expensive . Around U$25.000-U$35.000 for a rust one without any work/upgrade and around U$40.000-U$100.000 for the retored ones . The 94-95 GT mustangs here cost around U$23.000 to U$35.000 without any upgrades .
You guys are very lucky ,LOL. Take care of your machines .

I like it.. But i think it would make run the line that gives the bumper the roundness it would look a lil more assquared would not match the body style anymore..
